About Us
The Peripatetic Learning Support Service (PLSS) is based at Stockton Riverside College and provides support to organisations throughout the Tees Valley.
Many adults experience learning difficulties which have impeded their progress in their chosen professions or jobs. PLSS is being introduced by staff who have many years of education and training in their specialist fields and can offer support to meet the specific needs of each individual.
What our service has to offer
PLSS provides assistance for individuals who may have a learning difficulty and/or disability. Support can be provided for individuals accessing education, employment or training. The service can offer support for individuals who have specific support needs such as:
- Blind and partially sighted
- Deaf and hard of hearing
- Autistic spectrum disorders (ASD)
- Social, Emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD)
- Mental health
- Dyslexia
Support provision available
- Individual needs assessment to identify learning requirements
- 1:1 support for learner
- Tailored advice, guidance and awareness training for employers, educational establishments and training providers
- Training for employers and employees to develop their own in-house support and sustainable practice.
Our aim is to ensure that adults throughout the region have the opportunity to realise their potential within the workplace, education and training.
